anyone have experience booking a friend for an FNA annual free night award from an old SPG card and adding them as additional guest? some chatter online that its harder than other bookings for friends and could get screwed.

I have my cat 5 certificate attached a hotel that increased to cat 6. If I cancel my reservation does the certificate goes back to cat 5 or stays cat 6?

it stays the same. But when you want to rebook they will need to convert the certificate to a new one

not sure I get you: rebook to a different hotel, different date? can I rebook to a cat 6 property now?

How do people calculate value ofpoints these days?
Do you decide the required amount in half and then divide room charge by point?
Ex: room is 30k points or $200 cash is it 200/30k or 200/17.5k since they offer a 1:2 ratio ?

What cpp do you aim for ?
