Too late to get free united bags?

I booked 5 tickets united but forgot to use my united cc for the purchase... Anything I can do to get free baggage?

I have star gold with Turkish as backup but prefer awarding the miles to united

setup turkish gold, after security go to the gate and have them change back to UA

I thought I read somewhere they tried this and it didn't work..  What excuse do I have for changing it at gate?

Just had this with LX, and forgot to remove at the gate.
BH it did not post to TK and after 14 days, I got it credited to M&M.

If you booked through a TA, give them a call as soon as you pass the checkin counter and they can change it for you easily.

With Delta I didn't use my Delta Amex and I just showed it at check-in the agent waived the baggage fee.
