The stores will have some sort of fitting station that the cup must fit in to qualify. kinda like the carry-on luggage thing by the check-in counter.

They always had a sign with a picture of how big your cup can be but they never stood behind there sign! (in both ways I mean that.) behind to see what you fill, and don't care what the sign says!

Yes this year were very strict about it being bigger then the 10 inches on the sign, I tried a big bucket which holds (paint/ compound/ pickles!) but he said no no to big, then tried a big mixing bowl but said still to big so had to use much smaller a water pitcher and a pretzel container! (even those were big enough for everyone to have with leftovers!! ;)

What happens if your supposed to get a free slurpee anyway because it's your 7th cup? Does it take away that free cup? Because according to the terms it doesn't count as a star but when I got last night I did get a star...

Try again to scan for your free slurpee when you go again next time and if it doesn't work, just explain to them through the app that you had an error with the stars or call the slurpee CS and they usually ship out a coupon or two as compensation.
