what do you set your cruise control on?

im putting my DDF account on cruise control for Shabbos now. What should i put it on?

IMO if cruise saves gas depends on many things. It depends which car, how many gears and on weight.
Lets say the car when its on cruise at 75 mph it'll be at 2 rpm but when going up a hill depending how heavy it is, it'll need more power so it lowers the gear and the rpm jumps up, that uses more gas.
Another thing is a few cars have only 5 gears like some manual cars, mazda 5, chevy aveo etc so when going over a certain speed and its on us highest gear it will just constantly go up in rpm.

You should NEVER be hitting the brakes on a highway (OK, never say never ) I HATE those drivers!

I didn't say I hit the breaks when I drive on the highway especially if I am using cruise control, but when you drive on the street with constant stopping and going you definitely use more gas then you would if you are using cruise control. Why do you think highway MPG is more then city MPG?

14 over for me. My longest period of not touching the brake was 2.5 hours at 115 mph(in my younger days)-that ended with a cop pulling me over

At 4am, yes. And if he wouldn't have thwarted my radar detector by sitting dark at the side of the road and only turning it on when I passed him, I would've gotten away.

I set it at 8.5 over. I can drive barefoot or with shoes and braking is the same, just have to keep your foot closer to the peddles IMHO. And MPG all depends, but if you know your car and how the gears shift no doubt in my mind you can do a better job yourself but I don't bother. Heck I use cruise on city streets. It is my favorite way to avoid tickets...

Did he use radar or laser?
With laser in most cases you can't detect it until the cop is pointing it at you (because laser is a focused narrow beam), and by then it's too late.
With radar also there's something called POP where it only shoots out bursts or radar when he presses the button as opposed to normally when it's constantly on.

vascar detector's are my favorite the look on a guy's face when he has fancy radar jammers and the cop pulls him over and tell him he used a vascar detector, the look on his face has got to be priceless. Or so I hear

Never got a ticket BH. I've just heard stories from a cop who used it for years (2nd hand). Don't know about NY/NJ probably too lazy to use their brains.
