I find it much easier to check the statement against my receipts when I have a paper statement.

Okay. Side point - have you found ever that your statement was wrong and you were charged for something you didn't buy? Honestly curious.

Not that I remember, but it did cause me to catch when my trial of Amazon Student ended and they started charging. I had totally forgotten about it since for some reason it never worked, but when I saw the charge I called and canceled it and got a prorated refund.

I use Quicken so that I have an offline copy, so if I used Mint I would have to do everything twice. The problem with Quicken is that sometimes it doesn't show charges for a few days.

Also, sometimes it's hard to see how much money you owe when you paid off a partial balance before it was due.. The paper statement has it more clear

A paperless statement still has the same information as the statement you would receive in the mail. The only difference is that Chase sends you an email that you statement is available online instead of sending you a copy in the mail.

So if I'm already enrolled in paperless, should I unenroll and then send them an SM?

Probably the way to go if you are already enrolled.

You won't get any confirmation after enrollment.
Credit will show up at beginning of following statement cycle.
Once you get the $$$$$$$, you can switch back to paper statements.

*IME.

Is it churnable? Didn't go that far. You must be very bored to try that.

Or you like free money and $5 is enough for you to try and churn it.

How's that free money?
You have to work for that - signing up for paperless statements.
Would you say a bus driver earns free money? Well, he's just driving a bus and by the end of the day he receives a check of $200.

How do you define 'free money'?

A few clicks to me can be free money. Not nearly as much effort it takes with VR/BB/WM...

Agreed. Still doesn't change the fact that doing this is a no-brainer for free money. Even if you don't want paperless, you can always opt out.
