points can be used for the AF.

Statement credits: If you have the exact number of points or more required to wipe away a charge, you can wipe away the entire charge.  If you have fewer than the exact number of points, you can only redeem in 2500 point/$25 increments.

Example: If you have an $87 charge, and 9000 points, you can wipe away the entire $87 charge.  If, however, you only have 8000 points, you can only wipe away $75 worth of the $87 charge (2500 point/$25 increments x 3).

she opened up a chase cc 3 months ago and a US Airways about 6 weeks ago
do you think that is a reason to deny her? to many credit cards?

A) Always be prepared to justify the need for the card
B) Its certainly worth a try as I think you prob stand a good chance if you were approved for the other 2.

Is it possible to get a credit limit increase on the Arrival card without a credit pull?

Has anyone been successful getting the annual fee for the second year waived? partially waived?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

If they pull from TU where you are, should be less of an issue

Am I able to cash out by buying VGC from a 7/11 that's listed as a gas station?

It's incredibly easy to cash out via southwest. No point in trying to do otherwise.

FWIW you can redeem 8900 points to pay the annual fee. I read somewhere that if you then downgrade, you'll get a statement credit of $89. But I can't vouch for that.

IME with Barclays if you downgrade within 60 days of the fee posting, you'll automatically be credited it back.

Cool!

Do you know if that'll happen if I paid part of the fee with points, and if I don't pay the rest? Or should I rather pay the rest of the fee?

You'd probably get refunded for what you payed towards it either way. Btw I'm just speaking from experience from the US Airways card where I downgraded my card almost 2 months after the fee posted and I was automatically refunded for it. I assume it's the same for all Barclays cards though, someone please CMIIW.

I can't find where in the thread people spoke about how to buy a refundable ticket to cash out my Arrival miles quickly. Can someone explain to me how to do that?

Buy a southwest "anytime" ticket with your arrival, redeem the miles towards the ticket, refund the SW ticket. You now have a statement credit which you could have them mail you a check.

If I buy an Anytime ticket for more than the value of my points, that shouldn't be an issue, right?

Correct. IIRC you could redeem points in increments of 2500.

Keep in mind that when you redeem points for travel you get 10% bonus points added to your account. (If you redeemed 50k points towards travel you'll get 5k points added to your account)
