points can be used for the AF.

Statement credits: If you have the exact number of points or more required to wipe away a charge, you can wipe away the entire charge.  If you have fewer than the exact number of points, you can only redeem in 2500 point/$25 increments.

Example: If you have an $87 charge, and 9000 points, you can wipe away the entire $87 charge.  If, however, you only have 8000 points, you can only wipe away $75 worth of the $87 charge (2500 point/$25 increments x 3).

Hi, new convert to ddf from FT. If you don't mind me asking, how long are people waiting from closing A+ to applying for new A+?

I was thinking of 2 months but I thought I would check if anyone had some good datapoints?

I wasn't able to easily find it earlier in the thread, so my apologies if it was earlier and I missed it.

Welcome!

Likely depends on the persona and how comfortable they are with potentially having to recon the application. With good credit and banking relationship, two months should be fine.

In theory, as it is a different product. Though you may have to field some tough recon questions.

If I have 150,000 points can I purchase travel of $1500, and also travel of $150+ immediately and redeem the 1500 for 150K, have 15,000 redeposited and the redeem that for the 15K and then be left with 1500 points?
Also, do i need to redeem for the entire transaction or can i use some points to go for part of the transaction only?

BUMP

Let me rephrase my question, (so I get an answer)

I recall reading in the US airways cc thread that after 8 days from closing that card you can reapply and get approved with good credit.

Is it the same here?

I think the general consensus is wait two month. If you apply after 8 days and don't get automatically approved you probably have a tough recon, and they might just want to reinstate the old card and you would receive no bonus.

When I closed the card they said no way to reinstate it, but can be only a way to persuade me from closing it.

Question about redeeming miles.
If I buy a refundable ticket and then cancel it, I will be able to
still get the money?

That's the point of a refundable ticket, that you get the money refunded
