points can be used for the AF.

Statement credits: If you have the exact number of points or more required to wipe away a charge, you can wipe away the entire charge.  If you have fewer than the exact number of points, you can only redeem in 2500 point/$25 increments.

Example: If you have an $87 charge, and 9000 points, you can wipe away the entire $87 charge.  If, however, you only have 8000 points, you can only wipe away $75 worth of the $87 charge (2500 point/$25 increments x 3).

I do not think you are understanding. You make a refundable purchase, redeem your points, once you get your statement credit, refund original charge and request a check.
With Barclays you can actually redeem points on a charge that's already been refunded. It just has to show up as a charge and then a credit which it usually does.

I just applied for this card, and the approval response came so fast if feels like they didn't bother pulling my credit. I mean like in a matter of 5 seconds it said you have been approved for $7,500 credit line. I have never seen such a quick approval before, it always been like 30 - 60 seconds on more. Pretty cool.

Wife's Arrival account has 6832 miles
Mine with A+ have 5328 miles. Will be closing it due to the negative benefit downgrade.

We want to drain all the point for full statement credits and don't care about 10% back.

What's the best method? Book a refundable hotel for room costing $68.32 & $53.28 including the tax?

Thanks

Doesn't need to be exact amount as miles. You can book a refundable Southwest flight for a few hundred dollars and cash out as well.

someone said something like"when you're doing partial redemptions, you CANNOT use all of your remaining points, but can only redeem in $25 increments."

Bit confused about that part.  I want to make sure I can redeem all the miles we have against those charges and be done with it and then cancel the card.

Exactly, How do we redeem?

Wife's Arrival account has 6832 miles
Mine with A+ have 5328 miles.

Want to buy some refundable one way or hotel room  to drain all the miles.

Make a purchase for more than you have on each account, once it posts, you should have the option to redeem. It will allow you to redeem only the max amount. You will end up with leftover.

You won't be able to redeem every last mile. And you're going to refund the charge so it doesn't matter how much more it is.

To do max possible, just get refundable for more than the points you have.

If your points are worth ~$580, buy something for $600.

About $70-75 on the first one, $55-60 on the other.

didn't work last time . The room charge was more than the value of miles and I couldn't redeem all of them. I think it has to be in increments of $25 or 2500 miles or something?

You will not be able to redeem them all, unless you have an exact amount. Even then, you get a 2% rebate on the redemption.

No matter how many miles you have and no matter how much the charge is, you will only be able to redeem by $25/2500 increments. So it makes no difference if you purchase something for $50 or $5000.
