No, I signed up for the 25k offer and after you buy a ticket they add a $100 statement credit, so that's why I made the reservation on Alaska.
As a side benefit I was able to redeem my Arrival points so I killed 2 birds in one shot

That link is a copy of the offer link they send you after making a booking, when I applied it wasn't in the WIKI.

Southwest will credit automatically. When you cancel there'll be an option to save it as credit toward a future flight or refund. It takes a couple of days for the refund to post.

I just went thru the process and redeemed for travel, but the credit never posted to my account. How long does it typically take? It does say completed by rewards history.

FYI The is a AFAIK unpublished limit of 200k point per redemption. (and once you redeem toward a purchase you can't redeem again on that purchase even if the first redemption didn't cover the whole purchase).
