Is there a way to refer a friend and get a bonus?
Does anyone know if this card is churnable ? If so how long after closing an existing card should one wait before being able to apply for another arrival card and receive the bonus ? The terms on the arrival application say "offer available to new card members only".
Isn't this card discontinued?

I meant do you have an open one already ? It looks like people are getting approved for it rather easy.

Quite a bit, I am sure not as much as most people here recently. They said no more US airways card for me, cuz I had three already and didn't keep any open for more than a year, so they can't issue a 4th.

What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting us regarding your Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard. We can certainly address your inquiry regarding the fee on your account.

We can confirm that your account does not have a Foreign Transaction Fee; however, you will still be assessed of the Foreign Currency Fee charged by MasterCard and Visa. The currency conversion rate that MasterCard and Visa use is the wholesale market rate in effect increased by 1% (this additional 1% is the Foreign Currency Fee). This does not show on the account as a fee but is incorporated into the conversion rate of your transaction. We hope you find this information helpful.

If you have any other questions and concerns, please reply to this message.

Very weird. IME there's no forex fees at all with the Arrival.

That means that neither the bank nor Visa/MC charge a Foreign Transaction Fee. However V/MC make money off the conversion.  This is known.  This means that if the Mid Market Rate for the USD/ILS is 3.93855, then V/MC will give you slightly less than that.  This is the first time I've seen it stated that it is 1% and in my experience it is less, probably closer to .5%.  Also,  the conversion rate used by V/MC is not adjusted in real time, as far as I can tell.  This will sometimes work in your favor and sometimes in their favor.  For example, the USD/ILS fell on yesterday from 3.98 to 3.93.  Until a certain point on Tuesday, even after it had fallen to 3.93, you would have gotten a rate based on 3.98.  One other point.  On Amex and Barclays, the rate is calculated when the charges POST, and can change from what shows while the charges or pending.  I have found that Israeli processors can sit on charges on US CCs for a number of days before sending them for collection (I am not familiar with all the particulars of the process.)

Still a cheaper rate than if you changed cash at a bank.

Or anywhere else for that matter, generally speaking.
