Definatly don't go for a chromebook. All it is, is a browser. It is useless without an internet connection and doesn't come in 3g/4g. Also you cant print directly from a chromebook, you have too first email to yourself and then go to a regular Windows computer to print it. So what you are doing is basically paying for a browser which you could usually download for free.
As for the Surface, I bought my Surface around two months ago and have not found anything wrong with it. It is simply amazing. I am now thinking of upgrading to the Surface Pro
I wouldn't go with the Surface. Too much money.
This is simply not true as it is amazing value for money if you compare it to other tablets like the iPad.
ps. I recommend the type cover over the touch cover.
