Do you have your kesuba?
« on: April 03, 2013, 10:31:19 PM »
This is just to bring to the attention of people who are not aware that they must always have the kesuba where they live, or at least know exactly where it is.

I have recently heard a story - a couple I know-  were separated for a while after long Shalom bayis issues, untill they found out that they were living without a kesuba since the beginning of their marriage (it got lost), they got together after working things out rewrote the kesuba, they say it works wonders....

I had asked a few people who had no idea where their's was, so just a reminder here, that you must live with one halachically.

don't know what that means, but I probably also don't like them  ;)
This is a couple that I personally know, though, it's not like the perek shira promises.

A guy once told me he keeps it in his Kiddushin Gemara, so he remembers where it is. When I asked him why he doesn't keep it in his Kesubos Gemara, he felt like an idiot.   :)

They say you're not supposed to, he could just walk off with it and then she's stuck

He could walk off with it if it's anywhere that he knows about.

+1

If it's hanging in their dining room, than at least people have seen it on a regular basis, so if he walks off with it, there is reason to believe her claim.
