Correct, and likewise any low-cost different cultured place.

Agree completely. Anywhere I go, I like to stay in interesting boutique style hotels to really get a unique experience.
It probably costs a bit more than if I would use points, but they're generally not super expensive hotels.

I usually make an exception for Shabbos, since it's nice to have a regular hotel for Shabbos and location is usually more important if I'm trying to stay near Chabad.

I'm planning a trip to Morocco with friends and am looking for tour guide recommendations. We usually travel on our own but based on feedback we want to hire someone to take us to kevarim and same person or someone else to go to the Sahara desert. Adventure style travels.

The only info i could find out if required, is the guide i used to climb the Jibl Toubkal mountain ehich lies close to Marrakech.

We're not going to climb Jebl Toubkal mountain, looking to spend more time in the desert.

New sushi place called wasabi opened a few months ago in Casablanca (it is on google maps). Really good food. Expensive by Moroccan standards but cheap by western standard.

There’s also bagel bar milchig non CY across the street.

Jewish shuls and sites and some cultural markets
I want to do it as a stopover
What's the minimum time needed?
Thanks!

Stopovers are usually in Casablanca, not a whole lot to see there. If you can get to Marrakech a full day would be the bare minimum; two days would be great.

I went in August. It was quite hot but didn't impair the quality of the trip

I was in Marrakesh at the end of June and it was hot. I was still okay. I would perhaps start my day early AM and come back to the Riad/Hotel for lunch and rest up a bit before continuing later on when it cools down.

FYI: Jemma El Fna has a different vibe at night. It's cool to see the street  performers at night.

Just be aware that COVID changed the place a lot (a lot of it in a good way IMO)

When I was there two months ago the whole country had a 9 or 10 pm curfew, Marrakech was empty of tourists and jemma el fna was pretty dead at night even before curfew. But I consider the lack of tourists a big plus

marrakech only kosher option is to get from Mrs Ohayon (the macher's wife), she cooks in her home.

There is a TR in here from girls who spent shabbos in casa, not exciting scenery but very cool if you want to meet the community

Aforementioned girl at your service.

You can reach out to the Chabad Rabbi. He wasn't there the week we were there but connected us a to a local family who hosted us for the meals.

Trying to book Sheraton Casablanca Hotel & Towers and no availability? is hotel closed or not part of Bonvoy?

Also, Hyatt Regency Casablanca pool shows closed, Hyatt desk says closed for refurbishment, and they wont tell me when will open, anyone have email address for them.
