First Time First Class Flyer Question
« on: April 04, 2013, 06:14:39 PM »
Hi all- based on miles availability I was forced to book first class flight from PHX to MIA which works out well bc its overnight.  I was looking for insight as to how comfortable amenities are -flying AA plane is listed as 738.

Any experts can tell me about comfort, sleepability, kosher food (leaving 1050 pm) if i need to bring pillows blankets etc?  thanks

Does American still offer Kosher meals for domestic flights flying first, I don't think so anymore.

Not very comfortable, not very sleepable, no kosher food.
If you want to fly first it's gotta be international or NYC-LAX/SFO.

Thanks all.  Kinda stinks but it's either cash or first class as far as I saw didn't see economy miles.  Flying July 7 at night from phx . I can't believe ppl would pay so much cash for such invaluable upgrades

I would keep an eye open for either the price to come down, or economy to open. It's only $5 to cancel the ticket.
You can set up an alert on Expert Flyer to notify you if economy opens. If you don't have EF, PM me your email address and I'll set up an alert for you on my account

Its not invaluable if one gets it for free.
It's a 4hr flight what did you expect?

I wasn't referring to the people who use miles I was referring to people paying triple the price for basically nothing.  I guess I expected something a bit more than a slightly larger seat

No person pays triple the price. Some companies may, but on a 4 hour flight not many.

The only domestic business/first anyone pays for is NYC-LAX/SFO.

People do buy First but they are few and far between. Part of the problem is that the preferential airport experience became inflated and thus diluted (someone who buys that $1000 ticket cannot use a lounge), and the upgrade system makes you feel like an idiot for paying for it. In Europe and Asia it's very common for people pay a large premium for an even worse J seat.
