That's what I thought. I just wondered if maybe something was different here because people were making a big deal about the fee. So how many days from the fee posting do we have to cancel, 60, 37, something else?

last year by the 100k deal you could have open such a card and still get it again.
there was a way to take down the annual fee by changing the...
does anyone know if these 2 things are also now alike?

The $450 AF has kicked in for both me and my wife. I also have the Platinum AAdvantage ($95 AF). Wife does not.
Would like to close my executive card and move over the credit line to my other AAdvantage (Platinum) card. Sent a Secure Message they responded they can't move credit lines from one card to another.. Called in the number in the back of the card and was told that I can indeed move the credit line from the executive to the platinum card but $5k credit line will have to stay on the exec card before I can close it.. AND there will be full credit pull before moving over the credit line.. Even though this is just move of credit lines and not an increase request.. Don't know what to do.. Wanted my wife to apply for the platinum too and then move her credit line but if I have to leave out 5k (that has to remain on the exec b4 closing it) and get a hard inquiry.. That's too much for us..

Is this a grey area? Anyone with recent experience in this scenario?

I would just let the credit line go, citi loves ton give credit lines so next time you want to sign up it shouldn't be an issue.

Well, not so sure about that.. Losing a 20k credit line for me and another 20k for my wife.. Could have an impact on my scores/reports..

Iirc when you deal with recon they can close the executive card and move over the credit line for you otherwise it's a pull or they don't do it, ( i don't remember which)

Things have changed since then.
Citi has implemented a "18 month" rule in their apps.
You can not change the statement date on the Executive card until after your AF hits.
