It starts out with a little bit of knowledge and a small desire to help others, but slowly-slowly turns into a cumbersome boring task of repeating the same things over and over and still over. So I made a rule with all the guys that I help that they can only contact me by email for dansdeals related questions. The next day I get a call from a friend, "I am calling to say Hello! Umm.. with regards to the Citi Credit card..."

What do you guys do about this???

Friends I help. Others I help a little. The rest get directed to various sites and online information. Whoever is left gets charged for my time.

Why do you mind helping friends and family. I personally love to talk about deals and ways for people to make $ I convince my family and friends to get into the cc business.

i help out my whole extended family and many friends and they are many.
the problem is when some people ask for help and they are not willing to learn all the stuff they are asking me to find them the cheapest rental, the cheapest flight, they'll send me their info and i should sign them up for the CC's etc. sometimes i have the time to help but many times i dont

Thats not a problem.

I think OP is talking about when your friend asks for his great aunts cousin and you put tons of effort into and the whole thing goes capput, it gets very frustrating.

I think people should charge their friends for their time.  Lawyers, computer technicians and other professionals all get paid by their friends (maybe discounted), machers shouldn't be any different.

I was very busy and I missed a call from a guy. I texted him that if he was calling for my help, please just text me. He calls me right back so I answer. Starts going into his questions, so I said "I told you to text". He said he thought I was joking

I have the same issue as OP.

On a bigger spectrum, besides for my knowledge of CCs and flying info, I also get bugged all day with tech help.

I don't mind helping friends and family members, but it gets hard and a lil annoying

I dont think its the helping others that we mind , I think its the fact that when they mess up WE  need to find a way to patch up the mistakes...

@twin, I'm not sure why you feel that we shouldn't be entitled to make money when we go beyond the point of regular helping and sometimes spend a nice amount of time to help others. I keep seeing this recurring pattern where you say Dan helps for free etc, I'm not sure if you're aware of this but this isn't a "non-profit website". Yes Dan helps ppl but that also fuels his site which in turn is his livelihood! There's nothing wrong with making a living in a honest way and helping ppl while you're at it. Oh and for the record, just because you charge money doesn't mean your helping less.

It depends who and it depends what I'm doing with them.

And usually by the hour. If not, one sum for the amount it takes to explain/go over xyz.

And I take check, cash, quick pay , Amazon Payments etc.

On the other hand I guess some of you were born with all the knowledge about these games and never needed help. Might want to think about that the next time you ask "can someone HelpMe help me".
