If I have a sofek if I'm getting 3k free, I wouldn't worry about which card I'm putting the spending. If you have 3k of regular spending definitely go for it.Don't buy something just be because you have 3k cash. Meaning, don't just spend it on something you wouldn't buy otherwise, rather do your regular spending on it and then you came out 3k on top
Now you're happy
I don't want to be the party pooper but if your TA is Jewish it might be nice to get on the same page as him and make sure he dosen't take a 3k fall
On a side note, i can't recall if it was Amex or Chase, but i once had a negative balance for 3 months and they sent me a check. When i asked why, they said it's their policy that they send after 3 months. Again, this could have been Chase.
I had a negative balance with Amex for longer than 3 months
Wouldn't this make for a great topic in the ethical thread?
Ignoring ethical implications.Option 1. You can request a credit balance refund without an SM. Under your full transaction history click on Dispute / Inquire about account activity> Open a New Inquiry> I have a credit balance on my account.Option 2 is probably the better one as others have said, spend it. Perhaps at a store where the item is returnable if need be like BBB.
I remember when some friends of mine had the exact opposite problem. There was a TA that would charge customer twice over a couple of months. He somehow got away with it for years(!!) until people caught on. My guess is he knew which customers had enough money that they wouldn't notice. And if they did notice, he would claim its a mistake and offer to refund it right away.
how is that relevant to what I wrote?
....friends of mine had the exact opposite problem.
It's the exact opposite case?
