Where do I stand as a DDFer
« on: April 08, 2013, 12:31:53 PM »
As far as point accumulation goes, how can I tell if I am making the most of my point earning ability - and I'm referring mainly to churning for huge bonuses-.

How much do you guys earn every year? What should I be averaging? Is 1, 2 million points a year possible?

There are various levels of playing the game- you should def be able to hit a million a year with one SSN.

The first year will likely be much easier to accumulate over the following years

:o Can you share which cards? between the wife and I it took me two years to hit 1M. Granted I did not churn very many... but I'm kind of wary about pushing my luck and getting in trouble.

In a few words, the cards that aren't easily churnable, the first year, since you didn't have the card previously you will have no issue getting it.

Basically the first year you should be able to get at least 1 of every card out there. (Based on having your credit able to handle it)

the reason why the first yr is much easier to each up points is bec your going for the cards for the first time and really don't ever have to worry about not getting points. For example i signed up for in my first yr for:
30k spg
25k spg
100k plat (targeted)
50k prg (targeted again) have another number if anyone would like runs out apr 9

55k explorer
-(60k) club
39k Freedom
40k SP

50k IP
30k UA biz (hoping to get the 55k)

50k citi visa
50k citi amex

This is not including wife who only signed up for 4 cards this yr.
this is also not including the spending i did to get the points which also adds up.

•this is all first time cards. The second time around will be much harder to get.
What do you mean? When you have the cards why do you have to worry about getting the points if you spend?

That is pretty much what I did.

Where can I find out if possible and how to churn the cards I got the first year?

I.e. I churned the sapphire once but I remember reading that the United explorer cant be churned at all..

IIRC the BA can't be churned, but the UA can.

It's very nice that everyone is rolling in the miles/points.

The real question is for you guys is

1)Are you getting the correct miles/points for your needs.

2)Do you know how to get the biggest bang for your buck.
