Actually, now that I think about, it's a much closer call.

The difference in mileage basically takes of the YQ...

Now I may take SQ, as J service on SQ likely trumps UA's F service, and there is lie flat on both...

Thanks all for your thoughts.
End of the day, SQ says, if I 'change' the ticket to J class, they'll NOT redeposit the difference in miles (57.5k>75k)!
My only option is to 'cancel' my current reservation and issue a new ticket from scratch.
Problem with that is, there's no more availability on the LH flight, and once I cancel my existing reservation I'm SOL.

What a stupid policy.
Can't understand them.

Theoretically when you cancel the LH res it should go right back into inventory though no guarantees.
Try it yourself on another flight to see how reliable it is.

Like I said, make some dummy ressies on LH around those dates to book out the inventory and see what happens when you release them.
Of course there's risk, but since when are you scared of risk?

That's a PITA to do since you can't book SQ partners online.
And if I try it directly with LH and it works, there's no guarantee when SQ cancels that it gets back to the bucket right away.

Too much of risk involved. currently, there's no other option to get me to TLV.

So do it with UA, shouldn't be a diff between UA and SQ.

LX has the staggered J from NYC-ZRH and, depending on the plane, you can get it from ZRH-TLV as well.

LH is going to be angled flat.
