Sonata and Optima are very similar. I also have the Sonata.

I own the Sonata, and have rented once the Optima for a week.

They are really similar, they have the same exact buttons, and controls, just different placement of the buttons.

The Optima is less sporty of a drive then the Sonata. I think the Sonata got a little better MPG.
