But you had cc's (credit score) before, right? I doubt my credit score has jumped from being non-exsistent to being good enough to be approved for an amex in a couple months. Could it?
Probably not from a low limit secured card.
Get yourself some store cards, spend money on them each month (even just $1), pay them off, wait half a year, and then you can probably get one.
It take a few months for some cards to even start reporting to the agencies.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Applied 7/6 for both cards for my wife.
Got approved for personal with $1500 temp. CL on SPG products, and got the 14 day notice for business.
The personal card arrived in the mail on 7/9 and the business card showed up today (14th)!!! Wohhooooooo!!

Beware of the SPG Business card.
A number of people have emailed me this week that they were F/R'ed right after receiving it!

Could it be because people are buying large amounts from the mint right away? Or are these people who didn't even get a chance to make a purchase yet?

Would it be better to spend the $1000 in day-to-day purchases than at the mint?

Also, I heard something about the fact that the very first purchase on a new CC shouldn't be done online... True or false?

Whoever got F/R'ed with this last offer please share your experience.

Obviously if you don't have the right paperwork for the FR, you should call and cancel the card before THEY close YOU down!

It has been reported that you may get the 30k bonus if you've had the card but cancelled it. Applies to both personal and business. As always, YMMV.

Dan reckons its not a big chance at all.

It's possible just like any churning is always possible because things slip through the cracks or you can make a big fight over it.

But generally speaking it's not officially churnable if you've ever earned the bonus.

My thoughts are that its a different bonus and the T&C are different in that it says you cant be an "existing Starwood Preferred Guest (Business) Credit Cardmember"

If you're applying for a business card then you couldn't have had a business one before.
If you're applying for a personal card then you couldn't have had a personal one before.

It's the same credit card.
It's always possible for a churn to go thorugh, unlike 4 years ago though it's always a YMMV these days.

Yes and no. I had a BoA for about 4 months, then closed. This was my first card. About 9 months later i responded to the AMEX delta card offer and was approved, this after BoA refused to reopen my account.

Plenty of people get targeted and receive Pre Approved letters, which really are anything but that. Ive read posts elsewhere where those who received such letters and applied were in the end Denied a CC even thou they were told they were Pre-Approved

Same happened with me on other cards.
But as someone recently said, in order to get a loan from the bank, you have to first prove you don't need it...
I do think there is a difference when they come after you and you innocently respond vs. you requesting the card from them. You never know though with this game.

I dont think that will hold up at all.  SPG is not typically churnable (without a big fight) regardless of what a misinformed rep told someone.

Yeah,
I got FR'd with the business card...

Acitvated the card as soon as I got it and ordered $1000 from the mind that same day...
I don't know if the mint triggered it though...
Anyone can confirm this?
