Were you able to go down the staircase from your room without assistance?

Did you eat by chabad for shabbos or brought your own food?
I'm assuming the andaz is a nicer?
Brought food as we were there in the summer when early Shabbos was at 9pm, zman at 1030.

Stairs down were fine without assistance.

Andaz is more elaborate, the Regency is minimalist but was very comfortable.

Stayed at the DoubleTree over Shabbos. Assigned room was on the 4th floor, easy accessible staircase. Hotel only a short 10-15 minute walk from the Portuguese Shul and about 25 minute walk to Chabad.

Its a short 3 minute walk from Centraal.
Where did you eat shabbos?
How nice is the hotel?

Do you think it's worth going to the andaz over the Regency?

My wife would rather a nicer hotel that's why I'm asking

Shabbos at Chabad Israeli Center. Hotel was nice and had a great view of Amsterdam.

The Andaz was out there decoration wise and was overall a little roudier. It's no PH. I much preferred the quietier atmosphere at the Regency and the Regency club was a nice touch - they have free drinks at happy hour. I also found more fruit etc to eat at the Regency breakfast.

The biggest advantage of andaz is location. It's right on a canal and walking distance to most of the city center. Regency is much more on the edge of the center and is pretty much a 10 min metro ride everywhere (though being next to the metro comes in handy for getting to the kosher places as the metro is faster than the tram).

The reason I chose Regency for most of the trip was to save 10k Hyatt per night.

Hi Im going to be in Amsterdam for a shabbos in Jan and was wondering wether it would be nicer to stay in The frum area or in the city and eat by chabad. Also if anyone has ever stayed at the marriot for shabbos is it shabbos friendly? Tia!

Any issues these days with antisemetism? Want to do a weekend there in February.

I was there in the summer and didn't notice anything. I wore a hat most of the time.

I saw that there are yellow vest protests in Amsterdam. Has anyone been there for shabbos recently?
