Wow I will be on DL 34 if anyone wants to have a DO on board. However I don't think it is so safe to be posting online that you are looking for a companion.

They shot parts of Ocean 12 in the Pulitzer Hotel. When I stayed there the manager was telling me all about meeting Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

Great wiki.
If you have short reviews of the restaurants/activities be sure to post them.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

there are my notes from this past summer (notes that i brought with me), stayed at the pulitzer

- train to central station for Euro 3.80, takes 20 mins. Don't buy the comfort class ticket, buy n single ticket with 'NS only' Avoid the trains labeled FYRA
   taxis around 40e
Tram 13 and 17 brings you as well from the Central Station to the Pulitzer (Stop Westermarkt, third stop from the station)
If you see a TCA cab, take that one. The driver will speak good English and not cheat you.
- When you arrive make your way to the ‘Arrivals 2’ area. Over there is a store called ‘Holland tourist information’ there you can buy train tickets to Amsterdam central  and a 48hr pass
-If you've got a canal view, ask for a room on the Keizersgracht side of the hotel rather than the Prinsengracht. It is much quieter on that side. If you end up on the Prinsengracht side if you get a room below the 5th floor I find can be a bit noisy up to about 11 o'clock in the evening. The rooms are also more "interesting" on the Keizersgracht side - that is where all the multi-level rooms etc are. On the Prinsengracht side they tend to be fairly "regular" rooms
-politely ask for one of the suites on the 4rth or 5th floor
- anne frank house 9am-10pm 8.5e. block or two away from hotel. In summer, you may have to wait an hour or more to get in. To avoid lines, get there as early as possible or the evening.(early evening)
- Rijksmuseum, 9-6, 14e,  Rembrandt's Night Watch, Vermeer's Milkmaid, four of Vermeer's miniatures
   tram:2, 5 stop: Hobbemastraat
- boat ride
- Albert kuyp market
- portugese synagogue, 10-4  12 columns, 613 candles tram: 9, 14 stop: Waterlooplein or Mr Visserplein
- Rembrandt House, 10-5, 10e 7student,  tram:9, 14 stop: Waterlooplein
- Jewish Historical Museum, 11-5 12e or 6 for students? tram:9, 14 stop: Waterlooplein
- Van Gogh Museum? 10-6 14e Sunflowers lines could be long tram:2, 5 stop: Van Baerlestraat
- Heineken Experience? 17e  11-7:30(last ticket 5:30) 1.5hrs, tram:16,24 Stadhouderskade
- Royal Palace (Koninklijk Paleis)
- Prinsengracht canal (anne frank house)
- Hollandsche Schouwburg 11-4, tram 9, 14 to Plantage Kerklaan
- view from Magere Brug (skinny bridge) night lit up
- Sal. Meijer Sunday-Thursday, 10-19.30h Scheldestr. 45, Amsterdam, close to RAI exhibit and conventioncentre
sandwich with pekelvlees, croquetes (authentic dutch dish), liverwurst, pea soup, pastrami
   . tram 12, 25 to Scheldestraat
- hacarmel Amstelveenseweg 224, 1.00 pm till 10.00 pm, tram 2, Amstelveenseweg
- H’Baron Kastelenstraat 110or108, 020 6424555
    Open: Sun- Thur 12:00-22:00 uur
bus 165 stop at Van Leyenberghlaan-Kastelenstr.; 62 at Van Nijenrodeweg
tram 5 - Van Boshuizenstraat stop
Zaanse Schans? windmills, clog making

Have your picture taken, dressed in an original Volendam costume. It's a popular thing to do and, although not very authentic, it does provide a fun souvenir. Amazing wiki, and thanks for all the details. Anyone know about all these restaurants, which hechsherim they have, and what hechsherim are considered good compared to heimishe chassidishe hechsherim here in NY?
