I am close with the Small family (the kalla in the video)... I remember 2 and a half years ago national geographic filmed their wedding...

Hopefully. I just finished the video, I thought they did a good job overall. And the rebels do sound really dumb, can't decide if that is good or bad.

How come Matisyahu speaks with an accent and sounds like he grew up in Brooklyn and not York PA?

That's what 2 years of hadar hatorah (the yeshiva he was in) will do to you. Many balei teshuva become fluent in Hebrew in just 2 years, picking up a brooklyn accent shouldn't be too hard.

I don't know Matisyahu personally, but many balei teshuva just want to blend in with everyone else from crown heights... Could be that's how he spoke growing up for all I know.

i once met this twersky guy
he is thinking of coming back one day and he still belives that he will so hes afaraid to cut off... but he eats chazer and is "free" for the time being.
he almost regrets that he left not because he feels he shouldnt of but because he has no where to go.. "they" are paying his rent, food etc.
most of this can be seen in the interview. but nebach look how he lives... he needs a "real' job.

A real "looser" its surprising given that natl geo is so anti semetic they would at least feature a successful rebel ... he doesn't even have furniture to watch TV on! how pathetic is that?
