bmi Diamond Club is Closing Down

At a recent investor day, Lufthansa revealed the timetable for Diamond Club closure. Lufthansa says the 2012 accounts will reflect the full effect of Diamond Club closure. This means Diamond Club will be closed by around 30 June 2011.
There goes the easiest way to earn lifetime *G :(

Status miles as opposed to flown miles are actually accumulated by flying. However if you fly in premium cabin you may earn 1.5 status miles while when flying in economy on a partner will only get you .5 status miles.

Are you still going to be Gold the year after next?
Since they are owned by Lufthansa, presumably Diamond Club will be merged into Miles &More. You can never know but presumably if you earned BMI Gold=*G the previous year they'll honour it, but the next year you'll have to earn it in the Miles&More program.

38k needed for Gold isn't true. After earning 16k for silver, another 38k is needed for Gold. So its 16k + 38k.

This aegean just came along, so that would be the easiest way to gold.

Gold members will probably become senators for 2 years.

Lifetime BMI Gold, will to my opinion not stay lifetime.

If all of it is true about the end of BMI Diamond Club, that would mean the end of a great party, for a great deal of the members.

I transferred all my BMI miles to LH last month and applied for status match. The offer was available for accounts registered in Israel, Ukraine and Netherlands.

It depends. I think the biggest majority did not like it .  It was also possible to change addresses.
