We nursed him back to health so he could stand trial to be put to death. How many millions have we spent on this piece of garbage ? Crazy

This is one of the reasons people are against the death sentence. Keeping him in jail for life would be a lot cheaper than putting him to death...
They should've finished him off when they had the opportunity, during the firefight.
And spending the rest of his life in prison would also cost a fortune.

I think this is more accurate. I doubt anyone considers cost as their main opposition.
It usually gets lumped together with the fact that it's ineffective as a deterrent (the fact that we waste so much money on an ineffective deterrent).
