I was told as long as you heat it up all the way and clean the racks well so that's there's no residue that it's fine.

If by residue you mean even grease its hard to do.. I guess it can be burnt off

When your grill is at 700+ degrees there's no grease left. There's not much of anything left.

+1.
Was told to clean it well and turn on the fire full blast for 15 min. Do that everytime you want to switch.
Cleaning it well is not as bad as Pesach cleaning. Just clean it with a grill brush then wipe it down with a wet cloth.

Perhaps not the answer you were looking for, but... If you need to ask that question, you're probably grilling your fish wrong. :P

It's best not to put fish straight on the grate, anyway. A good idea is to put each piece on a soaked cedar plank (or similar).

Not for me. Go from fish to steak and sometimes both at the same time. Ever hear of "surf and turf"?  :)
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Not on my "surf and turf" but will put in on the kids burgers and dogs.  ;)

ETA: Having marinated pork chops on the grill tonight. Talk about tender. Should I clean the grill first?   :P

I actually ordered "turf and turf" at kosher restaurant once.
I think it was chicken wellington and a small steak.

Indeed. The rule for fish (seafood) is very simple if it has fins and scales it's kosher otherwise...

Side note all carnivores are not kosher.
