1. Will Warriors? They’re running into significant cap issues now.
2. If he can get a lt max at a team he wants to play for sure. If he can’t, it’s a nice paid vacation.
warriors will, they can’t replace him if he leaves and they would look really bad after he laid it all on the line for them and they don’t want to re-sign him.

Nets, Knicks and Clippers are all still prepared to give him a max with no protections according to the reports

Perhaps the injury is the best thing that happened to New York.

Does he want to re-sign with the warriors or show he can win a title on his own?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

No one knows what’s in his head, but if I were him I wouldn’t do that.
1. If KD wants to GET rings: The warriors had a lot of great contracts but will have trouble retaining their all stars. Even with KD, not sure they’ll be favorites in 2-5 years.
2. If KD wants to EARN rings: there’s still the perception that he joined a loaded team and got rings the easy way. That’ll stick even if warriors lose klay and/or draymond yet still win rings in 2-5 years.

its pretty clear now that they need KD to win so that might be the push to keep him to stay. But Kyrie Irving who is practically a lock to come to Brooklyn is heavily recruiting KD who is his close friend to come

But IMO even if they need him to win now, his GS legacy is forever tainted by him joining a loaded team.

So where will KD be next year?
who will have the larger impact, KD or Kawhi?
Common sense is not a gift, it is a punishment.
Because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

And GS will be tainted forever because they only won championships either against an injured team or with KD. The rest of them couldn't win on their own.

What is the GS legacy?

Are they one of the best teams in history? where does this run rank?
Is it better than the spurs winning in the early 00's every few years?
does the lack of threepeat (trademarked by Pat Riley) hurt it a ton?

I am not sold on that. Without KDs contract they probably have a better supporting team. They were close without KD and with Thompson out for some of it.

well even if KD leaves they have no cap space to upgrade the supporting cast either way

Also the whole point is to convince him that they need him for him to want to stay. So them losing helps that even though it might not be true

They are definitely better, although the LeBron Heat were better than the Warriors, as well as the Jordan Bulls and Kareem/Magic Lakers, and that’s probably it. Not the Celtics or Kobe Lakers or Pistons or anyone else.

Come on, their injuries this year were nuts. The one they lost was in 7 to LeBron and Kyrie playing at their best level ever and it came down to the wire then as well. They were a LeBron James block away from a 3-peat already. Remember, this is LeBron James, the GOAT, in his prime, uber-motivated to win a ring for Cleveland in a revenge match. Cut them some slack.

Also, KD being injured is like Jordan being out for the Bulls when they lost.
