The question is so warped and twisted to fit the MJ storyline I do have a problem answering it.

Any other competition in the world it's better to make it as far as you can even if you lose in the end.

I have no idea what twisted logic could possibly dictate otherwise.

You have to be one of the best teams to make it to the finals. If you have a terrible record in the finals should that matter? Should your overall performance in the finals matter?
