Honestly I think it’s believed he was possibly already Jewish, the geirus was just to be certain. I remember hearing about it when he was on the Knicks, that his mother was half Jewish on her mother’s side (so he was possibly Jewish).

He tried making an NBA comeback this past year but it didn’t work out. He played for a team in Israel that he partially owns until recently, and I think he’s officially on the Maccabees’ roster now
