Finally watched a NY game. Take away Melo’s shooting ability and he is not even an average player.
Lol

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

He is not exactly a multi-faceted player but is arguably the best pure scorer in the game

That sure doesn’t sound like a resume of a “great” player to me.

Finally, someone stands up to Lebron. Whatever Nazir gets is definitely worth it. Only going to make the next game even more exciting.

wow. Nice push.

great. So let him be the best pure scorer. But being a 'great' wont cut it at that.  He is decent at best when hes not shooting 49%

Melo, 4 points in the forth. I think we can finally put this "great" BS to rest.

i was actually up at the end of the fourth, (thanks to my son's new teeth ..lol) but i was just watching the espn updates.

i thought melo from his stats had a pretty good game, 15-29 with the most reb on his team.....
but i was just watching the stats at 530 am, so i dont know the woodson moves and the ref sitch...will watch it by lunch.but i love the loosing team, "the refs sucked" answer to why they loose.
and JR smith is litt the only reason why you guys lost! what an overrated player. finally it was seen amongst everyone in the big time!! and Chandler was a no body in the playoffs.

but all in all, lets sum it up this way.melo- 8 yrs in the league and he has one break out season, if it happens next yr, and the next 8 seasons after that, maybe, but i doubt he'll be the player he was this yr, in other words melo is an overrated superstar....

and you should know by now, im basking in the loss, dont need to shove it in your faces right away :D
tamus nafshi im pilishtim (you learn this quick as a met fan/yankee hater)

This guy is not a "go to guy" in crunch time. He hardly ever gets doubled teamed.

We use to hear this every year when the Bulls lost to the Pistons. Then when the Bulls started winning the big ones all you heard was MJ gets all the calls.

I wouldn't call it bias, though that argument can probably be made more strongly in basketball than in other sports (see Donaghy, Tim), but if you can't agree that NBA playoff basketball is frequently swung by shoddy officiating, then you clearly aren't watching much of it.

Refs do not win or lose games. Everyone always wants to point to a couple of calls in the game that could have changed the outcome. How about the other hundred of plays every game the coach and players messed up on?  If you think NY lost because of the refs maybe you should stop watching a sport you don't understand.  ;)

Thus far in this thread you've sported a very outdated view of the game, leading me to believe that you're the one who doesn't understand the game.  ;) [I'm just going to go along with your method of using an emoticon to make it look like I'm playing down a diss.]

Either way, I wasn't referring specifically to the NYK-IND game. I didn't watch it and the extent of my opinion on the matter was to notice the lopsided 46-18 FTA disparity, which obviously doesn't tell much of the story. My point was that irrespective of the 'winning and losing', NBA playoff officiating (not that regular season is necessarily better, it just doesn't get as many eyeballs) has long been erratic and inconsistent. The fact that anything other than the play of the 2 teams on the court should have such an oversized impact time and time again is a travesty. Sometimes it doesn't really change the outcome, but we can all come up with at least a handful of series where the team that clearly played better did not win.

...and it had nothing to do with the refs. Show me a coach that tells his players they lost because of the refs and I will show you an unemployed coach.
