Amazon Cart
« on: April 22, 2013, 11:57:26 AM »
Just wondering if anyone else does this:

Amazon products constantly fluctuate in price, weekly, sometimes daily.  When you sign in to your account and access your cart, Amazon will alert you to price changes affecting items in your cart.

So . . .  I constantly have about 25 items in my cart--from everyday staples to large purchases I know I'll be making soon--and then check my cart daily.  I wait until I see a good price, then I execute.

Or even better set an alert with 3x camel.

How does it work? Do you have to create an account first?

Good thinking though!

Also good for setting an alert after you purchase something. If the item goes down in price, you can usually take advantage of Amazon's unofficial price guarantee.  ;)

I wonder if there's some sort of algorithm that causes the price changes, involving how many are sold or how long it goes without selling.  I'm wondering if there's some way to work the system.

I think it has what to do with pricing elsewhere

Just thought I'd share- I do this all the time. After any order from Amazon I track the price. If it goes down, I ask via chat for an adjustment.  IME, they'll always do within 7 days, after 7 days ymmv.  Just got a $11 adjustment on a gps i bought 10 days ago.
