If your computer or phone is giving you issues:

• Please read this before posting: 4 Reasons Why IT People Ignore Your Requests for Help
• Restart the computer. Hopefully this will take care of any issues
• If your problem has not yet been solved, try to Google it. There may be a very simple solution
• On a Windows computer, a system restore may do the trick.
(This is a work in progress, please feel free to add whatever you may feel is helpful)

Don't I need it in a special format to view on the tablet?
Do I need to install a video viewer on my tablet?

Got it a bit easier, download handbrake then ripped the dvd direct to my tablet and didn't need any special video viewer, played it on the existing video viewer that comes with the tablet

I am having a problem with my computer's network adapter/internet connection. I deactivates on its own; usually after sleep or if I leave the computer idle too many times in one day. Many times this also happens when I turn it on for the day. Each time I want to connect to the internet I need to start the windows network troubleshooter which takes a few minutes but fixes things, usually. Is there anything wrong with the computer, with the adapter, or with me?

I have an HP envy dv6

That's why I asked if it's a commercial DVD. Those are usually encrypted, and handbrake won't work since they require special decryption software to decode them. So apparently the DVD in question isn't encrypted since it worked with handbrake. Just curious what DVD did you rip?
