have HP lap top , this is the 2nd hp lap top that the letters on the key board are worn off the new one is maybe 2yrs old --
A)anyone else have this happen ?
B) If have change the keyboard on lap top , any chance that if done incorrectly will harm files etc ---- computer contains many legal cases and can not take a chance to do harm to it ---since i can buy an external keyboard to solve

i wonder how many hits on the keys do the figure b4 they wear out

Changing keyboard should not affesct HD. Either way, if you have important files on your PC I would advise you regularly back it up.

A lot of laptops have a button to disable the touch pad. That could have got hit by mistake and resetting the bios just restores everything to defaults so it would "unpress" the button...
that's what I was thinking

As long as you change the keyboard while the laptop is off it will either work properly or not work properly. I've changed hundreds of keyboards I never saw anything get damaged yet

THANKS -- letters wearing off-- common ?
or only if pond on them beyond what hp considers normal lifespan , since happened to 2 hp computers i would think it is  kind of a planned obsolescence ?--your thoughts

Will try that. Drivers updated. I also read in many places online that unplugging everything for 10 minutes to let capacitors run out can fix this problem
Unplugged all monitors and computer from outlet for over an hour, still there. Unplugged all PIP monitors from computer and logged in via TV and it was still there.

Do you think it might bee the TV display adapter?

Having issues with wireless mouse, which I'm attributing to USB 3.0 interference. Is thereanything I can do other than connecting receiver to USB extension?

Why wouldn't you atttribute it to the mouse first, wireless mice have more issues than usb 3.0 does. try the mouse on dif systme see if you have the smae issues.

Not 100% of your question. Are my terrestrial monitors running at their proper resolution? Yes

I have a non-pnp monitor listed that isn't there. I realize it's not the end of the world, I just want to know how to get rid of it

I'm using 1 (dedicated), but the onboard one still works. This must be new technology, in my days the onboard was automatically disabled and the only way to have 2 cards was SLI or XF

Trying to figure out how I use touch screen laptop. My display is too large for the screen and I need to drag to see the other side of the screen. How to I set the screen to display the whole screen to fit the display? Not sure that was so clear.

How hard is it to replace a laptop keyboard? Is it something that I should try to do myself with following directions from the internet or is it advisable to pay someone with experience? (the specific keyboard that I need to replace is for a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5320)
