Will do.
Shkoiach!
ETA: Are any of the cheaper ones here good?
I can't say for sure that I have ever used this specific model, but for general internet usage almost any (reliable) wireless router will work.

The original link the OP sent me a few days ago was for a refurb, so I assumed they were ok with that.

Totally screwed isn't exactly a technical term and doesn't really give me any insight into the issue, but you can always try doing a system restore again by go into it using f8

Sorry about the way I worded it. I tried this and it's working again. Thank you.

Lately I started getting this msg while on the web from time to time;
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
Error code: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

I think it started since I installed K9, does it make sense? if so, what can i do?

My sister has an Acer Aspire netbook with Win7 x64. She just started getting an error message on boot that a boot device cannot be found. The hard drive is the 1st on the boot device list in the BIOS.
My initial reaction is that it could be a loose HD cable, a defective HD,  or that Windows is corrupt. Is there an easy way to try to repair Windows if she can't boot into it before checking the hardware? TIA

Can she access eRecovery?

1. Power on the computer
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the Alt key and press the F10 key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery.

If she has any important data on the drive I would recommend working on that part before running tests and risking further damage to drive

Nothing personal, but it seems you're having a lot of computer and Gmail problems lately. :(

It's a long shot that it is as simple as this, but it is a good place to start:
(Assuming Windows 7)
Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Deivces - Mouse
On the screen that comes up, you should have a tab that says "Dell Touchpad".  Click inside the box, and another screen will display.  One of the options will be "Scrolling and Zoom settings".  Check to make sure it is enabled.

I installed new Windows:
How do install Office from the program files?
Or any program for that matter.

Huh?
It's not like a Mac -copying from "program files" is not the same as copying from "applications".  You need to re-install all software.

I don't understand your comparison to a Mac, as I've haven't really used one. :)
My question is: Is it possible to install Office from the program files?
That's all that's left after installing newer Windows.

You're giving us a tenth of a story.
You updated the version of Windows?  8 to 8.1?
