Also, when was the last time you restarted your computer?

will restart and try again.  If it doesn't work, should I use the BIOS for the C55-A5180?  That's what I understood from that post.

Well, I don't feel comfortable recommending that.  Any specific reason you are updating the BIOS?  If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Thank you for refocusing me.  Because Crucial recommended it before installing new RAM.

ETA:  I'm replacing a 4G with and 8G.

Didn't see anything in the change log which would improve ram usage.  Just leave it :)

Having trouble waking up from sleep mode after couple hours...Power button doesn't wake it up...I can hear the light hum of the hard drive...Holding down the power button for a hard power-off, and then restarting is the only way I'm able to get it back on...Any clue whats up?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

I just installed new hard drive less than a week ago. Do you still think its that bug? Any solutions or links about the issue?

From a quick google search I see recommendation to update graphics card drivers. Sounds right?

I have an Intel Graphics card. Their update utility says that a customized manufacturer friver is installed...and I should stick with Dell. So I ran Dell's driver update tool and it is showing a BIOS update that was released in July 15. Not sure if could be related buy should I be updating this driver? I see up thread DanH is recommending against that...not sure if the circumstances are different?

Lastly, I think I saw someone recommending switching sleep to hibernate. If there's no recommended solution, is this a good workaround?

What about...?
First off - he wasn't 100% for sure using the appropriate bios to upgrade.  Second, he didn't have any problems.  You are :)

In that scenerio there was a risky option so he said if it ain't broke don't fix, here you want to install the correct bios update directly from Dell so you don't have that risk and it is broke so you want to fix.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

BH updated fine. I think the waking up from sleep issue is resolved. Thanks.
