I'm stuck at step #3: On the next screen, add your MP990 printer by any applicable method. There are 5 methods. Mine is attached via USB cable.
Only one that seems to make sense is last one i.e. "add a local printer or network printer with manual settings". There are 12 port options. I have tried a couple with selecting my printer and get message "Windows is updating the list of printers. This might take a few minutes". After waiting a while nothing happens...?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

(for next time, quote to what you're responding if there was an unrelated chat in-between.)

USB001 is probably the port you need to select, updating the list may take a pretty while.

I usually quote but often have difficulty accessing earlier DDF pages as I described here Would love if you had a solution to that problem.

Also the calculator button on my Logitech MK321 stopped working...Any clue how to fix?

I use WebChaver and am haing some trouble accessing certain pages of DDF. CS recommended I erase my entire browsing history and cache. Is there any way to export it, and than import it back?

Tried all. Didn't help. Strange thing is it works fine if I'm not signed in to DDF.
Not sure if I'd be able to help, this is really strange. But in order for anyone to even attempt to help you need to explain "having some trouble" would mean. What happens when you go to these inaccessible pages, do you got an error, does it load and load, or it loads funny?

forums.dansdeals.com didn’t send any data.

When Webchaver is uninstalled it works fine. I am not using them to filter;only to monitor and send to friend.

Yes. None to enable or disable trackpad.

The left key from the touchpad on a Thinkpad t430s (there is 2 of them, and both) stoped working.
I've tried updating/reinstalling drivers, remove, the keyboard, and it's not working in safe mode,
Anything else to try?

MAZEL TOV!
After months of of struggling with my shut down problem, I came across this thread on Superuser.com.

1)open device manager.
2)expand network adapters.
2)update drivers for "Dell Wireless 1705 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHZ)" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Properties".
4)then open properties for "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Properties".
5)open "power management" and check first two boxes.
6)click OK.  close device manager.
7)restart your laptop.
8)now shut down to check if your problem solved.

In trying these instructions, I realized that the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller was disabled...I enabled and followed his instruction...Any clue how it may have been disabled?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

There is no way to "downgrade" Vista to XP, so what has been done is a complete new XP install. The Vista key is certainly irrelevant. The XP key I highly doubt it is a real one but done with some medication...  ;)
