My Num Lock key is always turned on when I start my PC , how do I turn it off without turning back on after it restarts ?   I believe I have to change the value date from the Registry Editor/Initial Keyboard Indicators from 2 to 0 , I have done that but it always goes back to 2 by itself , maybe I am not saving it the right way , dono , TIA
Should be a setting in BIOS.

BTW, in the latest Windows 10 (1703) Num Lock is always off for PIN sign-in screen, which is nice.

Do you know how to go into the BIOS setup? There should be a Num Lock field over there which you can change the setting.

Go the Settings>System>About and look for the version field to see which version you have.

You should probably select the Enter Setup option on this screen.

Don't you see anything about Num Lock in the Main or Advenced tab?

Then I guess you don't have it there.

Going back what do you mean that the reg value changes back to 2? When do you see it's back?

I close the Registry Editor screen, but when I open it back up it's back to "2", is there a special way to save it?

Do you click Ok after changing the value? Shouldn't need to save anyway else.

BTW, do you have the latest Windows 10? I think it should remember NumLock state across reboots.

I have version 1607
Try updating to 1703 (Creators Update) and see if it indeed saves the state of the NumLock once you press it to disable.

You can easily update with the assistant tool https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=846364

When I plugged in my external drive (via USB)to my laptop to do a backup my wireless mouse (via USB) basically stopped working. It seems like there is not enough power for both...I'm using a laptop, but it's plugged in. I have had this kind of issue before, but it has been more mild (i.e. mouse not being as smooth, vs. not working at all). Is it possible some power setting was changed? Is it likely a hardware issue? Any solution? Thanks.

Looking a little more into the issue above, I wonder if this has been the cause of my network adapter losing connection randomly just for a few seconds, and if a powered USB hub would help?
Through device manager you can see how much power is required for attached usb devices, and network adapter shows 450 mA. I know the max is 500. Does it make sense that either sometimes the it needs more than 500, or that the supply sometime dips below 500?

You mean that it should actually not sleep, (Just turn sleep to never), or you are talking about Wake-on-LAN, that TeamViewer should be able to wake the PC from sleep?

Just have it stay on I guess. Otherwise it won't work for remote desktop

There are ways to do Wake-on-LAN for anything, https://superuser.com/a/700246/368970, but just turning off Sleep is certainly easier. Just go to Power Options> Change When Computer Sleeps, and set to Never.

As per my posts above, I am thinking about getting the Anker USB Hub. I have seen in the reviews and doing a quick google search that there can be interference between USB 3.0 and bluetooth device. I use a wireless (bluetooth) mouse, but my computer doesn't have USB 3.0. Can there potentially be interference if the computer itself doesn't have USB 3.0?
