This is different for every manufacturer and for some models, so basically you'll need the real one. The only one I found that is almost similar is this one https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6J15YN5282&cm_re=hard_drive_caddy-_-9SIA6J15YN5282-_-Product, but I'm not sure if it is worth the gamble.

I bought a new SSD for my laptop, and am wondering if considering that I have a a few issues with my system if its a better idea to do a fresh install instead of cloning from my current HD? If so how do I go about that?

A fresh install is a good idea if you are comfortable re-installing your software and don't have much files

I actually have a considerable amount of files but I have a sea gate backup drive. That should work right?

Yes but will take time to copy

Assuming the drive is big enough to hold all your files.

Is doing a restore from Seagate Dashboard sorta defeating the point of doing a fresh install? Should I instead install all the programs fresh, and manually import files?

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a router/internet issue. My Verizon router broke and I borrowed an old one from a friend. My computer is able to connect to it, and it says "Connected, Secured" under the network name, but I can't actually access the internet, and ping returns no results.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Are you able to log into the router itself? What does it say for status?

I'm not sure what it is, but it's the thing plugged into the wall. I have Verizon DSL, not FIOS. What are PPPoE credentials?

Oh, you have DSL... then Alexsei is right. PPPoE is your username and password to the Verizon internet and this is a setting in the router which is different for each customer. You'd need to contact them to get it.

Look up your IP address and try to go with a browser to the same IP address with the last part changed to 1. Something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1
