If you have a wireless mouse with a USB receiver, try unplugging it and plugging back in

Don't know specifically about this laptop, but Google if there's a certain touch or key sequence that locks/unlocks the touchpad. Have had that happen to me by mistake, first time was at least a year into owning it so it was very unexpected.

If all else fails you may need to restart, it definitely fixes this for me sometimes

Had people coming to me four times now having had pressed the hotkey to turn off the touchpad.

What can I do to get into windows / computer if the password to the computer has been forgotten?

Basically I tried entering via safe mode, due to the wifi stopping to work, and now I can't get in becuase apparently I don't remember the original password?

Lol I just literally just did this last night. It was cool. Basically a windows laptop that a friend tried starting in safe mode to test a bad USB port, tried to login and it says "something happened and your pin isn't available" which sounds like a ridiculously poor way of Microsoft saying "we dont know how to make a stable OS. Anyway he was in Safe Mode, so obviously you cant reset the PIN (Microsoft account garbage). Finally used this trick to turn off safe mode... (needed all the bitlocker stuff too)

As an aside, here is the results of the USB port issue, which Chat GPT helped me summarize:

One of the USB ports on my Lenovo laptop has stopped recognizing input devices like mouse dongles, wired mice, and keyboards. However, it still works fine with USB flash drives, external hard drives, and even a USB CD drive.

Details:
Other USB ports work normally.
The problematic port does provide power and reads storage devices.

I’ve tested the same setup in a Linux Live USB environment, and the issue persists — so it's not a Windows/driver problem.
I also tried different mice/keyboards and cleaned the port — no change.

Looking for:

Suggestions on what might be failing at the hardware level.
Any possible fix or workaround
Confirmation if this could be a failing data line or partial port failure.

Its new laptop from B&H, about 2 months old, Lenovo said to bring to Micro Center. Their diagnostics showed everything working well... Then he came to pick it up and showed the worker that a mouse plugged in doesnt work! They referred back to Lenovo, now have to ship it to them...

Any idea why one laptop recently started getting slow wifi? One of them is getting 300+mbp, the other getting around 20 (the one getting 300 has techloq)

Not quite

I know, not totally in my control, but mussar taken

It's still not working perfect, getting between 50 - 80 mbps download and the other one still gets 300+
