It's very simple somewhere on the back there should be a cover with probably one screw in it under there you'll see the ram chip(s) if there's more than one take them out and try them one at a time  if not just take it out and put it back also take out anything plugged in
Thanks will try in the morning

if you really want to do it right also take out the hard drive although the computer won't boot without the hard drive if it does start up you can then start figuring out what's broken by adding one piece of hardware at a time and trying to start it up
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

It may be under a different cover that has the old hard drive symbol that looks like a can

You took it out and tried booting and nothing happened other than the little lights?

Yup, with the ram out and in
The computer won't do anything without one chip of ram but it will start without a hard drive
It seems like it most likely is ram or maybe the power supply although it can also be the motherboard or CPU

I don't know much about drivers, so maybe someone can help me.

I have a bluetooth earpiece (motorola HX550 if it makes a difference) that used to work with my Windows 7 computer. Lately, it hasn't been working. Most of the time it won't connect, and when it will, it won't play any audio - it just shows up in the list of devices, and says that it needs troubleshooting. When I troubleshoot it it says that it needs to download the driver, but windows can't find it anywhere. Motorola's website doesn't seem to have any drivers either.

Now this bluetooth connects just fine to my Windows 8.1 computer. Is there any way to copy the driver to the other computer? Would the driver be compatible with Windows 7?

Any ideas/advice?

Thanks

There is no way to copy the driver but you can try downloading a driver for a similar model

I don't see any drivers on Motorola's website, though!

just googled it and found this
https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/89881/p/1422,2690,8116/
This program didn't find any updates. Reading the site, it says
Quote
Motorola Device Manager contains USB drivers and software to connect your Motorola phone or tablet to your computer using a USB cable
It says to download bluetooth drivers here: http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php, but that won't install either.

I chatted with Motorola, and they said I need to call and speak to Level 2 support.

do you have k9?
you'll need to boot into safe mode to fix it

Seems to me that the first step to computer troubleshooting after a reboot is to ask if K9 is installed.
