Seems to me that the first step to computer troubleshooting after a reboot is to ask if K9 is installed.
k9 doesn't work well with some anti viruses so if he just installed one that can very well be the issue
I have k9 with mcafee without a problem but when my father installed kaspersky on his it made problems
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Gosh.  They should make a popup/warning dialog when posting in this thread: "If your computer is crashing after installing Avast, please note that K9 and Avast 2015 (10.x) do NOT work together at the moment."

let me describe the problem better
i have 3 steps to login
  • alt + ctrl + del
  • choose user
  • username & password

i have k9 & avast installed that conflict, so i made system restore to a previous restore point before installing avast, looks like it went wrong somewhere it freezes by the Alt+ctrl +del page even in safe mode basicly i cant do anything.

Solution
boot off a USB or external disk and repair, i don't have 1 any one familiar how to get it ?

Can you try to restore to a different point?  When computer turns on, immediately start tapping on F8 until you get boot options.  See if you see a choice for repair or advanced.

See above.  Or download ISO of Windows.

Or download ISO of Windows.
If you want to use it on a USB you'll need a USB boot tool

is there ANYTHING that happened before that may contribute to it?

Not that I know of
Lately it had been switching off/crashing after extended use.

when you start it does anything happen? do any lights go on? do you hear the fan start? do you see anything on the screen?

I would like to thank you DanH and all those trying to help,
1 note, F8 should be pressed after post before the logo appears, press & hold F8 to get advance recovery options to be able to choose a restore point (maybe it should be added to the wiki)
Thanks Again
From my PC.

Yes, the fan starts and the power light is on. The display turns on but just shows a black screen

It's probably the RAM, do you have a different laptop that you can borrow from to test it

somewhere on the back there should be a cover with probably one screw in it under there you'll see the ram chip(s) If you have more than one you can try using only one at a time and try booting up in between if you only have one or this doesn't work then take one from a different laptop that you know works and put it in and see if it works then

I bought a used Optimum router from eBay and set it up, so that I won't have to pay the monthly fee. It's the exact same model as the one I got from Optimum. I have 2 issues:
1. I have the 15/5 plan. Most of the time, I average 18-19mbps down. However, sometimes I'll get 2mbps down. Additionally, my upload speeds are never 5mbps, rather averaging between 3 and 4.
2. It seems that the modem will sometimes randomly lose the connection for around 15 seconds. I saw it once, and all the LEDs were out. Today it happened 15 times. On Thursday and Friday afternoon and night and on Shabbos it didn't happen at all, but on Thursday and Friday morning it happened a few times.

Is the modem broken?
