Can you connect with an Ethernet cable
I'm not sure I have one. Do I automatically have one with my router?

It's possible if not you can buy one or borrow one (it's good to have in case you have a large download)
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Having a issue with a old Dell XP computer.

When I login the desktop (the icons, the menu bar) doesn't load. It loads fine in Safe Mode.

What I tried
(1) Restored to a earlier system restore
(2) Task manager > new task > explorer.exe

Any other suggestions?

Bump. Ran AVG and still happening. Any other suggestions?

press scan, then clean
Is that a good link? I always get it from bleepingcomputer.

I wanna add an SSD to my desktop. What's the easiest way to migrate the OS and installed programs onto the SSD while leaving the files on the HDD. SSD is much smaller then the HDD

Is there an easier way other then
Creating a backup>Deleting all files from HDD> Ghost to SSD> Format HDD> REstore wanted files from backup

Aha.
What precisely is that?  Do I need to replace Something?

Hard drive is physically dying.  Back up your stuff, and you may need to replace the drive.

If I understand correctly you have all you need

Check your ssd for the cables it needs and see if you have them in your desktop you may need a sata cable and a sata power cable

seems like the sata power is spliced and available for the next bay. Looks like I will need the sata cable though
If I see clearly the black wire going in to the hard drive is a sata cable check if the end of the cable looks like an L inside

from pic 1 it seems that I have an available sata power cable.
Pic 2 looks like my 4 sata ports. Any difference in which color I connect to?
