It had only been a problem on DDF. I will try again when I get home to confirm.

have not done so yet. Figured there might have been some setting that I might have set off without being aware. Ill try that too when I get home.

Thanks guys!

Umm. You do know restarting your computing and resetting some settings would usually be step number one to see if it fixes these type of issues?

And on a more serious note, why did you open your own thread as states in the second post.
You may not hold me responsible for any actions taken that were recommended from my account or username.

I was not aware that restarting the laptop might just fix this issue as my copy/pasting (from what I recall) worked on other functions/websites.

I looked through the tech talk board (not on it a lot) and must have somehow missed the one you mentioned in post #2. At this point I rather not cross-post so just continued here. Happy to move it over, just didn't want my little question all over the place.

The first step to fixing any problem is to restart your computer. Even when it doesn't make any sense, sometimes it just works!

:)
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I recently factory reset a win 7 lap top. Since then it not connect to unsecured optimum WiFi, no matter what I try.
It connects to regular networks fine.
I tried shutting windows firewall, etc.

I found this online try it and let me know if it helps you
Right click on wireless icon in bottom right hand task bar pane
-> View available wireless networks -> change advanced settings -> Open Wireless Networks Tab -> Select your connection -> select properties -> Make sure that "This is a computer-to-computer (adhoc) network" checkbox is NOT checked
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Why?

Because of the problems with K9.  They are new problems, I have been using k( for a long time.

For Gds sake.  Please follow these instructions.  If you cannot uninstall K9, skip step 2 (do not skip step 6).

You should no longer be having any issues with K9 and Avast.

Legally
http://heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/14-windows-7-direct-download-links

But you may as well use a torrent.  It will download faster.  The illegal part is the activation...

My suggestion for a torrent:
https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/11760241/    make sure you have a good adblocker (such as github.com/gorhill/uBlock )

When trying to update Java, I get a weird error. It goes through the whole installation, but afterwards, I get this stange popup:

After I close the popup (using the red x - the blank button don't do anything), another popup says Java has been installed. The problem is, it seems like it hasn't been, as Java can't verify that I have the latest update.
