Based on the logs you sent, I'd suggest running chkdsk\.  To do so, open My Computer, right-click on C: drive, hit properties.  Tools, Error checking.  Check both.

This is my results (I am on win 10 it was a bit different I don't have the option to check both)

Didn't know you were on Windows 10.
Hold down the Windows key, then hit X. Click Command Prompt (as administrator). enter the following:
Code: [Select]
sfc /scannow and hit enter

It's strange to me that the applications are quitting before shutdown.  it is possible that there is some sort of short which is initiating a shutdown, but i wouldnt bother replacing a mobo unless i'm 100% sure thats the issue (and even then i might not)

You are shutting down with error 0x500ff.  That can be cause by a short to the power button..  But it's hard to tell.  I see malware installed as well.. run adwcleaner and/or malwarebytes

Well,  I'm still under the Dell warranty they are sending down a technician to replace the motherboard. Shouldn't I do it?

Where do you see that I'm shutting down with error 0x500f?  In the event log I send you? I have malwarebyts installed and there is no malware detected.

What is your power button configured to do - sleep, shut down or hibernate? If it's anything other than shut down, you may as well rule out a short in the power button. Did you run the diagnostics on your hardware? Press F12 as soon as you turn on the computer and choose the diagnostics option.

So change your power button setting to make the computer sleep and see if the problem becomes your computer suddenly going to sleep. That will tell you the power button needs replacing.

CD cracked while in my computer. I got the drive open but seems it's in many tiny pieces inside. How on earth do I get them out?

Take the drive out, open the tray and shake it over a trash can. Then when you find out that you still have not removed all the pieces, and it's making strange noises and there are read errors, disassemble it and shake some more. Maybe even blow it out with an air can. Then, when you find you can't get it back together, you'll be glad to learn that DVD drives don't cost much.
Example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106393 is now $13.99 with promo code EMCETFG54

Thanks... hoping it doesn't end up with needing to be replaced though  :(

You are correct, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I would never have guessed how easy it is either

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Sounds like your hard drive died
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.
