Depends where you got it from. You can run avast full scan and malwarebytes to find out
Just scanned my computer with AVG and malwarebytes and they didn't detect  nothing. What should  I do?

Not really a tech problem....

I want to lock my kids out of my amazon account.  Problem is that after I sign in and then leave and close the browser, upon opening the site in a new browser I am already logged in.  How do I change that?  Thanks.

Log out
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Your kids should really have their own login to windows. Set a password for your own windows login and set it to lock the computer when you step away for a certain length of time. You can accomplish this with the screen saver and/or sleep. If you want to lock it immediately without waiting for the idle time to elapse, press Windows-L or the sleep button (if you have one).

Another option is to simply log out of Amazon before you close the browser. Just make sure you have not told the browser to remember your password.

Be creative.

Have multiple users signed in to Chrome, each with their own desktop icon. That way, you can have all your sensitive password stuff in 1 place, and the kids can have their own desktop icon to access the web that doesn't have any of your things. (I have a setup like this to keep work things and personal things separate).

Thanks for the help.  How do I go about setting up individual access to Windows (I think I tried once and it did not work)?  And will that prevent them from accessing amazon, for example, if I remain logged in under my user access?

Windows add user accounts
Choose your operating system and create standard user account (not administrator)

I got a "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET" 2 days ago and followed the instructions I found here of typing the commands below into the dos prompt and then restarting my computer.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

netsh int ip set dns
netsh winsock reset

It got the same error tonight, and again was able to solve the problem with the above. Any clue what might be causing this issue?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

clean install or an upgrade to w10?
which filters (if any) do you have installed?

My internet suddenly stopped working on my Windows 10 laptop. I don't have wifi so I always use Ethernet at home. Network Diagnostics says "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration."

I saw this upthread

Using Windows 10. Out of the blue my internet stopped working. When I click on troubleshoot I get  message "wifi doesn't have a valid ip configuration". I tried connecting to a different network to no avail. Interestingly in wifi settings it shows I'm connected to the network...Any suggestions?

and tried this

In command prompt, type ipconfig /release and press enter
ipconfig /renew and press enter

but received this message "An error occured while releasing interface Ethernet : An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint."
I tried skipping to step two but then it said "An error occured while renewing interface Ethernet : The operation was canceled by the user."

What should I try next (I have restarted it many times, I am not in airplane mode)?

Restart the modem. If it's connected to the router, restart the router

I have done this multiple times. This problem started weeks ago.

I have just been trying all sorts of command prompts I found online including the ones in this link from just above

here
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

netsh int ip set dns
netsh winsock reset
Nothing seems to work (I am probably doing some of them wrong).
