There's lots of stuff in there! What am I looking for?
Custom views>administrative... look before the last kernel power error. Look for errors
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I don't see any kernel power errors. Here's everything since around the last time it shut down: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/95ac8c8740b43b01368419a2183e03cf

It seems like there's some issue with a scheduled task
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I think that's an old issue. How do I figure out what? Would that be making it restart?

My desktop has been making a humming/buzzing noise, on and off. It gets louder and quieter. Any idea what it could be?
Coupled with your pc shutting off, i'd assume that's your fan making noise when speeds jump.  Try running http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php  and check the numbers while the buzzing noise is going.

I don't see any errors... there are a whole bunch of scheduled tasks I don't recognize. I disabled them all (temporarily) to see if it fixes this.

It hasn't been completely quiet in a while. Now it's a little quieter, though:

PS: Since I disabled those scheduled tasks, it SEEMS to have stopped restarting.

It actually just restarted again, even with those tasks disabled. But I'll try that utility too.

ETA: Zero Problems Found

Why do you think the CPU and GPU are getting so hot?

It may be an issue with the fan or the thermal paste attaching the heat sink to cpu/gpu may need to be redone. Or both

I have an acer laptop and the speakers are under the laptop. I feel that everything is so quiet compared to my old one. I have checked all the sound tools (on the programs and the computer) are there options that I'm missing?

Wow, sounds like I need to have someone come down and look at it.

Thanks to both of you for all your help!

Anyone know of way to darken the rest of the computer screen when watching a video without maximizing it to full screen?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.
