weird, i always see them
maybe weird adblock rules?
same in all browsers?
well; depends on the pages, div's, css, etc..
Ok. I disabled Ublock for Amazon. Let's see if it changes...(nothing like the scientific method).
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Are you using the Scan metro app? If yes, it has a setting for the file type.

Are you kidding me?  You just asked me that.  Networking capability has almost nothing to do with the software; it has to do with your current hardware and setup.

Sorry for ranting, but it's very frustrating to give advice/help and then see that you were completely ignored.

My desktop has been making a humming/buzzing noise, on and off. It gets louder and quieter. Any idea what it could be?
The computer has also been turning off randomly. Is that related?
It may be an issue with the fan or the thermal paste attaching the heat sink to cpu/gpu may need to be redone. Or both
I had someone reapply the thermal paste, and it worked nicely for a couple days as long as I didn't use it for too long in a row (then it started getting hot). Now it's been making a loud buzzing noise again.

Any idea what it could be? And is it safe to use despite the noise?

:)

Anyway, if you've been able to scan wireless until now, just not as PDF; give NAPS2 a shot.

I already answered what it could be. Now it's up to you to narrow it down, and I told you how.

You can also test your power supply on its own if it's a standard ATX power supply. Disconnect all the cables coming out of the power supply from the motherboard, drives, or whatever they're connected to, remembering where each cable goes so you could put it back later. Then follow instruction from a site such as https://www.techpowerup.com/articles/other/22 or http://www.ehow.com/how_4928308_make-power-supply-work-motherboard.html to turn on the power supply. If you hear the noise then, it must be coming from the power supply, so you should replace it.

There are no speakers plugged in, and I don't think there are internal ones.
Sometimes the speaker is on the motherboard. It's a small component that could be less than half an inch in diameter. Here's an example.
