I would just use CCleaner - wipe free space 7 times
It's 24 hours, and the ccleaner is still cleaning. 20 minutes left to go. :)

Thanks. I'll wait it out this time. ( I definitely remember getting it to work last time. Maybe it was a flash setting? It wasn't in the regular settings I needed to type something in the search bar )

It's the only thing that I've been using Microsoft edge for..
Chrome 56 is out, and www.jewishbroadcast.com works again!

I'm trying to change my profile name on my Windows 10 account, and it's not letting me.

Here's what I did so far:

Set up the computer connected to my fakename@live.com email address.
It made my profile name the beginning of that email address (fakename), which I didn't want.

I changed my account type to a local account (which I prefer anyways), and changed the account name to realname., but it didn't change my profile folder name from fakename to realname, like I hoped.

I googled a bunch and found some registry hacks to fix this, but other websites said that they were not recommended. Then one website said to make a new account called realname, and then move your stuff over to that profile folder.

So I changed my username back to fakename, but it's not letting me create a new profile called realname (maybe because my current profile used to be called that).

Any ideas how to fix this? Ideally, I want a local account called realname, with my profile folder also named realname.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

Fonts are probably just using the default because the fonts that are used in the documents aren't installed in the new system. First try to install all the fonts that you had in the broken computer into the new one.
I think that this is the real problem. How do I download more fonts?

So why not just extracting all the fonts from that hard drive like you did the Word files?

I've been having the strangest computer issue for the past few months, and I've scoured the internet for a solution with no success, so I figure I might as well try here. Basically, every so often my computer (an approximately year-old Asus) disconnects from whichever network it's connected to, and will not reconnect until I restart it. (This has typically been about once or twice a day, but sometimes as often as every 15 minutes for a few hours or as infrequent as once in a week. I've been unable to discover any particular trigger for it.) It's happened on many different networks and no other devices are affected, so it's not a network issue, and I have yet to find any other way to reconnect other than restarting. I've done virus scans, re-installed drivers, etc. to no avail. If anyone else has had this issue and/or knows of a possible cause/fix, I'd greatly appreciate to hear.

Where would I find the fonts on the harddrive?

If you have any filter or security software (i.e. Anti-virus or firewall) please list them.

C:\Windows\Fonts
Not necessarily C: if you're not booting from that drive (which has a broken windows), but substitute the C: for the drive letter the broken windows is.

Avast (free version) for anti-virus and stardard Windows (10) Firewall. The computer came with a trial version of McAfee, but that expired a while back.

It has expired and was uninstalled, or it is still sitting on the system?

In the 2nd case, first uninstall McAfee completely from your system (probably better with their uninstall tool: http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp) and see if the issue persists.

The only product I found still on my system was WebAdvisor, but I downloaded and went through the uninstall tool just in case. I'd be rather perplexed if that was the issue, but I guess I'll wait and see. Thanks for your help.

Is it an issue with secure wifi that needs a key, unsecured, or both?

Both. Has happened with my home network, school network (both secure), public networks at airports, etc. Once I'm booted off, it won't connect to any network, even a different one, until I restart it.
