Someone suggested to reinstall win 10 fresh as opposed to an upgrade, but I did that a few months when my hard drive broke and still have the problem.
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

After shutting down or hibernating, I often have to hold down the power button for a few seconds for the computer to completely shut down. Without this the computer won't restart with simply pushing the power button. Any clue whats going on?
Maybe try turning off Fast Startup

Don't know but if you find out PLEASE let me know.... I have the same issue on a laptop (originally Win 8) since upgrading to Win 10.
Did you try updating the BIOS? That worked for me a few times.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

You can try to see if its a filesystem/partition table issue:
Download testdisk, run analyze on the drive, post results.
I created a new file log
Selected the  (F:) drive
Now what?

TIA

I never tried that

Why did it work a few times? Did the problem keep coming back?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

No I do this for a living, I had a few users with the same issue.

Fast startup was turned off.

Isn't that risky business?

I will try this,
Isn't that risky business?
If you download it directly from the manufacturer and don't pull out the plug and battery while it's updating there's nothing to worry about. I've done it probably well over 100 times without incident.

The update on Dell's site had a Bios update and some other driver (Intel 8260/7265/7260/3165/3160 WiFi Driver | Network_Driver_MVH6C_WN32_18.40.0.9_A06_04.EXE (213 MB). I came back more than an hour later and webpage shows that download is complete but still installing and not even at 1%.

Go to dell.com/support put in the service tag, go to drivers and downloads> find it myself and download the drivers from there

Any clue what this driver is? Intel 8260/7265/7260/3165/3160 WiFi Driver | Network_Driver_MVH6C_WN32_18.40.0.9_A06_04.EXE (213 MB)

As its name implies it is the WiFi Driver.

I installed the Bios update and am still having same problem:(?

I also have tried downloading and installing the wifi driver from the Dell website but get error message "This version can not upgrade from the current older product. Please uninstall the older product manually". It feels a bit risky to uninstall existing network driver? Any suggestions?
